BOSS stands for Bharat Operating System Solutions. This is the indian version of linux. The Govt. of india spends about Rs. 10,000 anulaaly on a computer for it’s software maintance(licencs purchasing,etc.). BOSS developed by CDAC Chennai has given a better and cheaper OS. This is a debian version of Linux. Linux is an open-source Operating system developed by Linus Torvalds i.e., it is free of cost and is known for it’s security. Linux professionals are in demand in the industry and will soon be in demand in PSU’s in 2 to 3 years in india too. Knowing BOSS can help one easily get a job in indian PSU’s. BOSS is already being used in indian navy and army and it’s demand is soon going to rise more.
